Asante Kotoko’s coach, Seydou Zerbo, has left Ghana to mourn his son’s passing.
Coach Seydou Zerbo has been granted a two-week leave of absence by the management of the reigning Ghana Premier League champions following the death of his son, Zerbo Faical Mamadou, on Tuesday night in Burkina Faso.
Today, the Head Coach will fly to Burkina Faso from Kotoka International Airport.
10 year old Mamadou passed away from complications following heart surgery.
Coach Seydou Zerbo will miss Asante Kotoko’s upcoming away game against Samatex FC.
In the absence of head coach Zerbo, assistant coach Orlando Wellington will take over.

The Porcupine Warriors were beaten 1-0 in their last Ghana Premier League game against Accra Hearts of Oak. The game also doubled as the President’s Cup. The Phobians grabbed the Cup for the second time at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Asante Kotoko is fifth on the league table with 31 points after 20 games.
