At least four more people have been killed in new attacks in the Upper East Region’s Bawku.
According to Joy News, at least two more people have been critically injured and are being treated in a hospital.
The shootings took place on Saturday, December 24, in a suburb that is widely assumed to be populated by people who do not belong to any of the factions involved in the chieftaincy dispute.
Several sources confirmed the incident to Joy News, but police continue to refuse to provide details.
Adamu Seidu, the Bawku divisional police commander and chief superintendent, told our correspondent, Albert Sore, that he could confirm some killings but would not provide a number or comment further.
