Ghana’s friendly match against Mozambique on Tuesday, January 10, ended earlier than expected when the latter walked off the field following a penalty decision.
After Annor Walker’s team was awarded a penalty for handling the ball in his box, Mozambique’s head coach ordered his players to leave the field.
However, the penalty decision did not sit well with the Mozambique team, who left the field despite attempts by officials to persuade them to stay.
Prior to the penalty incident, Mozambique had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half and appeared to be on track to win the game with 20 minutes remaining.
After several failed attempts to get them back on the field, the referee called the game off.
Ghana’s first match is against Madagascar on January 15th.
