We always love to look our best when we are going out or meeting important people…
Often times we spend hundreds of Cedis to look unique so that even our guardian angels will find it difficult to recognize us.
I went to town one hot afternoon to run an errand for my mum. “Eh! Kobby you are only going to town , Must you dress as though you were meeting the queen?” She jokingly said.
“Oh! Mama, it’s always good to look your best, who knows whom fate has arranged to meet you that day”, I retorted.
In the vehicle, I sat by a beautiful lady. She was well dressed and wore a nice perfume that attracted everyone who sat by her…. Even a 5-year-old could tell she was heading for a grand occasion as she sparkled from head to down in her apparel…
She paid her fare and was waiting for her change, “hey! give me my change before I forget it!, that’s what you do to steal passengers’ change, thief!. “Mchtwee..” She chuckled. All eyes on her, I kept my head down in shame and pitied her for such insolence..
“What has she done?, she has just called for herself, a fight”, I thought to myself.
The Bus conductor on the other hand was dressed shabbily and looked a bit dirty and stressed.
“My dear am sorry if you thought that way. I was actually hoping to get change for you after collecting all the fares since your denomination was bigger”, the conductor in the most beautiful tone replied her.
Surprised by the incident, I thought to myself that if only our attitude and personality was as beautiful as how we dressed then the well-to-do would be angels and the poor would be demons…
