The recently elected candidate, Hon. Lawan Gana passed away shortly before being officially sworn in.
The recently chosen Chairman for the Caretaker Management Committee of Karasuwa Local Government Area in Yobe State, Hon. Lawan Gana, has unfortunately passed away.
According to reports, Gana passed away on Thursday at the Federal Medical Centre in Nguru following a short illness.
Prior to his death, Gana was set to be one of the 17 LG Chairmen Caretaker Management Committees who would be sworn in on Friday by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
From 2003 to 2007, Gana served as a member of the Yobe State House of Assembly, representing the Karasuwa Local Government under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In 2015, he was also a deputy gubernatorial candidate for the PDP before switching to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
A close associate of his, Hon. Ado Adamu Bomboy, described Gana as a humble, honest, unassuming, humorous, practical, and pragmatic leader who will be deeply missed.
